Lead EMC Engineer
Join Leonardo UK's established EMC Test Team at our dedicated UKAS accredited EMC Test facility in Basildon. This site-based role is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career in EMC, pushing beyond testing boundaries and contributing to high-technology UK programs with significant impact.
Your Impact
Working closely with the Lab Manager, you will provide UKAS accredited EMC testing, alongside design and development support for various projects. Your responsibilities will include developing robust, cost-effective EMC test procedures, plans, and requirements.
Key aspects of the role include:
- Customer and supplier liaison to ensure through-life EMC cost minimization and delivery of innovative solutions.
- Production and approval of EMC documentation, including supplier documentation and test results.
- Conducting in-house and external EMC testing to military, aviation, and commercial standards.
- Supporting the Basildon EMC facility's UKAS audit schedule and accreditation.
- Performing EMC test house and equipment maintenance duties.
- Providing technical support for resolving EMC issues and representing the test facility at design and phase reviews.
- Challenging and supporting technical teams and senior management on EMC-related topics.
About You
Essential expertise includes experience with UKAS audits and the day-to-day running, capability enhancement, and maintenance of an EMC test facility. You will also require:
- Expertise in EMC testing to military, aviation, and commercial standards.
- Proficiency in EMC requirement generation from standards and legislation.
- Experience in customer EMC requirements analysis.
- Skills in system-level EMC design, development, and solution provision.
- Knowledge of EMC component selection.
Security Clearance
Successful candidates must hold sole UK nationality. This role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). Additional Personnel Security Controls, referred to as National Security Vetting (NSV), may apply, potentially including eligibility for Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
