About the Role

Join BAE Systems as a Lead Project Controller and play a pivotal role in pioneering progress and protecting what matters most. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of defence, aerospace, and security solutions. This is a site-based role located in Portsmouth Broad Oak, Portsmouth Naval Base, or Cowes.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Lead Project Controller, you will drive programme performance analysis by:

  • Creating and maintaining project plans and baselines.
  • Mentoring junior team members.
  • Overseeing the collation and interpretation of key metrics to provide detailed trend insights.
  • Presenting programme performance insights and root-cause recommendations to senior leaders.
  • Supporting cost, schedule, and quality management.
  • Coordinating monthly EAC (Estimate at Completion) and resource profiling.
  • Contributing to effective risk and opportunity management to ensure strong programme control and delivery.

Core Duties & Requirements

  • Act as a productive team member with the ability to influence and guide stakeholders at various levels.
  • Possess comprehensive experience and knowledge of Project Control policies, processes, procedures, and systems.
  • Have working knowledge of industry Project Controls toolsets such as Primavera, Microsoft Project, SAP, and Predict.
  • Demonstrate experience with Intermediate Risk and Opportunity Management.
  • Show practical application of business information toolsets/data analytics, e.g., Tableau, Microsoft Power BI.
  • Provide previous experience leading or mentoring more junior members of a Project Controls team.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience/knowledge in Baseline Control, Cost Estimating/Engineering, Resource Management, Quantity Surveying, Business Analysis, or Financial Management within project environments.
  • Holding a Project Management qualification/certification.
