Join us as a Maintenance Technician (Electrical) at our Eskmeals site, where you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in partnership with some of the most brilliant minds.

As a Maintenance Technician (Electrical), you'll play a key role in maintaining the operational availability, safety, and reliability of critical site infrastructure within a secure defence environment.

Day-to-day, you'll be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance, fault finding, and reactive repairs across a range of electrical systems and building services equipment. This is a predominantly electrical role, supporting the maintenance of lighting, power distribution, sockets, and electrical infrastructure across the site. You'll spend much of your time out on site inspecting, testing, fault finding, and repairing equipment, while also having the opportunity to develop additional skills through training on systems such as fire alarms and air conditioning equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across site facilities and infrastructure.
  • Diagnosing faults and completing repairs to electrical systems, lighting circuits, power supplies, and associated equipment.
  • Undertaking inspection, testing, and maintenance activities in accordance with site procedures and statutory requirements.
  • Supporting the maintenance of building services systems including fire alarms and HVAC equipment.
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely and in compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Working collaboratively with the wider Estates and Maintenance team to support business operations.

Essential Experience:

  • Proven experience carrying out electrical maintenance, fault finding, and repairs.
  • Experience within facilities management, manufacturing, industrial, defence, or building services environments.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems including lighting, power, and distribution equipment.
  • Experience delivering planned preventative and reactive maintenance activities.
  • Ability to work independently whilst managing competing priorities.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Essential Qualifications:

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Electrical Testing & Inspection qualification (2391 or equivalent).
  • CompEx qualification.

We value difference and we don’t have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and willingness to learn, then we would like to hear from you.

This role is 37 hours per week based at our Eskmeals site. Set working times are 7:30 am – 4:30 pm Monday to Thursday and 7:30 am – 12:30 pm Friday. This is a fully site-based role with no shift pattern.

Full training will be provided on site-specific systems and equipment. Opportunities to develop through Authorised Person (AP) qualifications and additional technical training. Travel to other QinetiQ and customer sites may occasionally be required.
