About the Role

Airbus Defence and Space is seeking a Manager Commercial and Contracts to join our Telecom & Navigation Commercial and Contracts Team in Toulouse, France. You will be an integral part of an international team responsible for all commercial and contract (C&C) activities for major, high-value international satellite export contracts. Your responsibilities will span the entire contract lifecycle, from sales and marketing phases (proposal preparation and negotiation) through to program delivery (contract monitoring and close-out).

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Activities:

  • Preparation of commercial and financial proposals for prime telecoms and navigation satellites, focusing on competitiveness and risk mitigation.
  • Definition, presentation, and implementation of commercial strategies.
  • Preparation of internal approval documentation for bid submissions and contract signatures.
  • Providing regular commercial briefings to senior management.

Contractual Activities (Pre and Post Contract Award):

  • Drafting, reviewing, redlining, and negotiating various agreements including MOAs, teaming agreements, non-disclosure agreements, equipment contracts, service agreements, and satellite/turnkey contracts.
  • Supporting contract execution by enforcing sales purchase agreements/contracts, managing key milestones and related payments in alignment with finance, legal, and other specialist functions.
  • Managing claims and waivers.
  • Preparing and negotiating contract change notices.
  • Monitoring customer obligations and associated changes throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Supporting delivery and contract close-out activities.
  • Providing support for financing, insurance, and other commercial schemes.
  • Designing and implementing complex contracting schemes involving multi-party agreements.

Your Profile

  • A minimum of ten years of experience working within an international business environment.
  • Good knowledge of international contracts.
  • Contract drafting experience is an asset.
  • A track record in negotiating high-value international contracts is highly desirable.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and within a large project team structure.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong team player with the ability to integrate quickly into a multi-national team, advocating team building and team spirit.
  • Open-minded, able to quickly assess and contribute ideas to various commercial situations.
  • Positive mindset, attitude, and flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced and continually changing environment.
  • Willingness to travel worldwide for business.
