Ergonomics Focus:
Ensure aircraft assembly processes meet the highest standards of occupational health and industrial efficiency. Adapt the work environment, including tools, jigs, flows, and pacing, to operator capabilities, preventing musculoskeletal disorders while optimizing assembly line performance.
Key Responsibilities - Ergonomics:
- Conduct detailed ergonomic risk assessments of workstations and assembly lines using methodologies like EMMA to identify risk factors such as awkward postures, heavy lifting, and repetitive strain.
- Collaborate closely with Manufacturing Engineering and Ramp Up teams to co-design ergonomic jigs, access platforms, tooling, and assembly lines for current and future programs.
- Engage in virtual ergonomics analysis during early design phases using digital simulation tools and 3D CAD environments with human modeling to validate ergonomics before shop floor implementation.
- Monitor absenteeism and musculoskeletal disorder (MSD) trends to develop and propose effective corrective and preventive action plans.
- Deliver workshops and training sessions to operators and team leaders on postural hygiene and participatory ergonomics.
Key Responsibilities - Safety Engineer:
- Provide support to managers in identifying workplace hazards and assessing occupational risks.
- Assist local management in ensuring appropriate risk controls are in place, investigating incidents, and requesting specialist support when necessary.
- Demonstrate good knowledge of EHS requirements for industrial processes and national workplace regulations.
- Promote Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) topics throughout the organization via training, awareness campaigns, and inductions.
Collaboration and Skills:
Act as a Plant Focal Point, liaising with central Medical Services and Human Factor Organization teams. Fluency in both English and Spanish is required due to the international environment and documentation. Excellent communication and empathy skills are essential for bridging the needs of shop floor operators and production targets. This role requires an awareness of compliance risks and a commitment to acting with integrity.
