Materials Engineer - Defence Aerospace
Rolls-Royce is seeking talented and enthusiastic Materials Engineers to join the Materials Applications team in Bristol, United Kingdom. This full-time role is based within the Defence Aerospace Sector, offering a hybrid working model with a minimum of three days required in the office.
The Materials Applications team is crucial for delivering design, development, manufacturing, testing, and in-service materials support for Defence Aerospace Projects. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience with the materials, processes, components, and products developed by Rolls-Royce and its suppliers, fostering personal and professional development.
What you will be doing:
- Provide technical and expert materials advice across the Defence Bristol programmes.
- Support the design of test programmes and the analysis of their data.
- Investigate engineering development, production manufacturing, and in-service issues using a structured analytical approach, presenting findings clearly and authoritatively.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects.
Who we’re looking for:
- A qualification in Materials Science or Engineering, or significant relevant experience.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to build strong working relationships across the business.
- Experience working within highly regulated industries.
- Good analytical skills.
Clearance and Nationality Requirements:
To work for the Rolls-Royce Defence business, individuals must hold a Security Check (SC) clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application process for this clearance if you do not currently possess it. Due to the nature of the work and the protection of certain assets, applications can only be progressed from individuals who are UK nationals or, in MoD approved cases, dual nationals.
