Maths Tutor

In this out-of-the-ordinary role, you will deliver engaging and high-quality Level 2 Maths teaching to Army apprentices. Your expertise will help them achieve essential qualifications vital for their careers and operational readiness, contributing directly to the success of apprenticeship programmes that underpin national defence.
The Role
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Delivering face-to-face Level 2 Maths courses, covering topics such as algebra, trigonometry, and calculus, to cohorts of up to 16 learners.
- Providing coaching, feedback, and guidance to support learner progress and assessment readiness.
- Carrying out invigilation, assessments, and maintaining accurate learner records in line with awarding body and ESFA standards.
- Collaborating with quality, compliance, and delivery teams to ensure programme standards are met.
- Planning, preparing, and delivering lessons tailored to diverse learner needs, including those with SPLDs and neurodiverse requirements.
The role is based onsite at MOD Lyneham, with set working hours of Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week.
Essential Experience and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Proven experience delivering Maths at Level 2.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
- GCSE Maths and English (grade C or above / grade 4–9 or equivalent).
- A-Level Maths (or equivalent).
- Certificate in Education & Training (or equivalent) is desirable.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
