Naimuri works on a diverse range of projects, from short-term initiatives to those spanning 5+ years. Recent projects include building a data analytics tool with Neo4J, a DevOps platform for 3000 users, digital forensic data processing for search and insight generation, a search and reporting system with an Elasticsearch cluster, a custom workflow tool with a React/TS front-end, an AI assurance capability, and orchestrating data pipelines for LLM performance evaluation.

About the Role:

As a User Researcher at Naimuri, you will leverage your skills to understand and define customer business and user needs, translating them into measurable value for our projects. You will explore and outline user requirements, friction points, and needs, supporting the team in creating services that effectively meet these outlined objectives. Your work will span both established projects and services, as well as newer, shorter-lifecycle projects.

What We Are Looking For:

We are seeking a confident and motivated individual passionate about embedding UCD best practices into their work. The ideal candidate will possess the following key skills:

Required Skills:

  • 3+ years of experience conducting User Research with a variety of users.
  • A strong understanding of both qualitative and quantitative user research approaches, with confidence in selecting appropriate methodologies.
  • Proficiency in supporting and conducting qualitative user research tasks such as workshops, interviews, and usability tests.
  • Comfort in working directly with users to maximise interaction value and support successful research outcomes.
  • The ability to effectively communicate research findings to stakeholders and incorporate feedback.
  • A solid understanding of the importance of accessibility and research ethics.
  • Proven experience of successful collaboration with product and development teams.

GDS Experience Highly Encouraged:

  • Proven experience planning and delivering user research aligned with the 14 points of the GDS Service Standard.
  • Experience working within agile delivery phases (Discovery, Alpha, Beta, Live) to drive user-centered outcomes.
  • A track record of preparing teams for, and participating in, formal GDS service assessments.
  • Deep understanding of recruiting and researching with users who have diverse accessibility needs or low digital confidence.

Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with the Government Digital Service (GDS) approach to agile delivery and research.
  • Experience working with Business Analysts and Business Change Managers.
  • Knowledge of User Experience best practices to support interactions with UX Designers.
  • Experience using UX tooling such as Figma to articulate research findings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and preparing research proposals for projects of varying sizes.
  • Conduct impactful and meaningful research across diverse projects, from early discovery to ongoing support for long-term initiatives.
  • Identify key users for research and define personas to articulate needs to the wider business.
  • Conduct both in-person and online research, understanding considerations for smooth execution.
  • Present research findings clearly and confidently to customers and product/development teams.
  • Support BAs, UX Designers, and development teams in translating insights into requirements and features.
  • Ensure research is conducted ethically and adheres to safeguarding best practices.
  • Integrate accessibility best practices to ensure research is inclusive and diverse.
  • Collaborate with ACDC colleagues to define and communicate the importance of user research for successful product delivery.

Pay and Benefits:

Naimuri offers competitive industry pay, determined by your experience and base location rates. Salary is assessed relative to the team's seniority during the interview process. A full-time working week is 37.5 hours with flexibility, and part-time working can be discussed. Core hours are 10:00 am - 3:00 pm, with office access from 7:30 am - 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday.

We offer hybrid working, with an expectation of an average of 3 days per week in the office, depending on project needs and team ways of working. Occasional travel to local customer sites or other UK locations may be required.
