Nuclear Watchkeeper Instructor at HMNB Clyde Faslane

Are you an experienced Nuclear Watchkeeper looking for a rewarding, shore-based role where you can impart your invaluable knowledge to the next generation of engineers? Babcock, a global FTSE 100 organisation, is seeking skilled professionals to join our team at HMNB Clyde Faslane as instructors, supporting the Royal Navy Submarine Service. This is a unique opportunity to transition into an instructional role, with no prior teaching experience required as full training and support will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive classroom and simulator-based training to Nuclear Propulsion Plant Operators and Marine Engineering Equipment Maintainers.
  • Collaborate with training designers to ensure courseware remains current with technical advancements.
  • Provide vital safety training, such as Confined Space and Working at Height, to students outside the core ACTS programme.
  • Offer subject matter expertise for the evaluation of technical data and training content.
  • Support the regular review and revision of training materials to maintain accuracy and relevance.

What We're Looking For:

  • Essential experience includes comprehensive knowledge of Naval Nuclear Steam Raising Plant operation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Recent, hands-on experience in the field with up-to-date technical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to engage and inspire learners.
  • Must possess a Royal Navy Submarine Service: Category A, B or C Watchkeeping Qualification.

Security Clearance:

The successful candidate will be required to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance.
