Airbus Defence and Space is seeking a highly motivated Operational EW Specialist - Mission Data & Ground Support System (d/f/m) to join their interdisciplinary team in Manching, Germany.
About the Role
This role is within the Mission Systems center of competence, responsible for developing and maintaining modern ground support systems for the A400M, Eurofighter, and Tornado platforms. These systems are crucial for the preparation, testing, and evaluation of mission data libraries, particularly in the context of electronic warfare, defensive aids, and electronic combat. You will be part of an agile team developing state-of-the-art EW mission data systems for international clients.
Your Tasks and Responsibilities
- Provide expert guidance to systems engineers on how airforce units utilize EW mission data in real-world scenarios.
- Support the system development team with operational knowledge throughout the life cycle of mission support systems projects (concept definition, design, validation, testing) using an agile approach.
- Translate complex defense EW operational needs into clear technical requirements for engineering teams.
- Define, document, and validate end-to-end operational use cases for EW ground support software.
- Design concepts, interfaces, and workflows for seamless integration of ground support systems into EW Center operational infrastructure.
- Support and participate in customer meetings, technical reviews, and workshops to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Generate representative EW mission data libraries to support aircraft development phases, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, and flight tests.
- Foster collaboration within the project team and with internal/external stakeholders.
- Actively support continuous improvements of products, projects, and processes.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
- A degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Multiple years of active-duty or civilian experience within a National Electronic Warfare Center.
- Proven, hands-on experience in EW Mission Data programming, emitter customization, or threat library generation.
- Deep understanding of the operational lifecycle of EW systems, including mission data preparation, verification/validation, and post-flight analysis.
- Strong team player with an independent working method and high quality awareness.
- Strong communication skills.
- Business fluent German and English is an advantage.
