Position Summary
In this role, you will oversee the planning and on-time delivery of a specific portfolio of parts throughout their full product lifecycle, encompassing New Product Introduction (NPI), production, transfers, and supply chain design. You will be the main point of contact for both external suppliers and internal stakeholders, ensuring robust relationship management and consistent on-time delivery performance. This position also requires driving adherence to supplier commitments, resolving delivery and inventory risks, and maintaining the integrity of SAP data in accordance with ERP processes.
What you will be doing
As a Planning & Delivery Leader, you will be responsible for ensuring the planning and on-time delivery of a defined portfolio of components across the full product lifecycle. This includes:
- Demand flow down Review and maintain planning parameters for all parts in your portfolio to ensure the MRP run generates a demand signal aligned with supplier capacity. Manage demand flow down to suppliers, providing weekly order books reflecting Rolls-Royce needs and highlighting any exceptions for supplier review. Manage requisitions for un-sourced parts to facilitate timely sourcing by buyers.
- Supplier Management Lead regular reviews with suppliers to confirm demand loading into their systems, resolve exception messages, track production against commitments, identify issues, and ensure treatment plans are in place to recover potential delays or excess inventory. Ensure changes to supplier production plans and commitments are accurately reflected in Rolls-Royce ERP systems. Conduct regular supplier reviews (Delivery and orderbook reviews) per the agreed engagement plan (remotely or on-site) to assess performance against KPIs, review load and capacity plans against demand, and ensure all risks and issues have timely resolution/mitigation plans. Work with suppliers to create and execute arrears recovery plans for parts/suppliers falling behind schedule, using appropriate planning and control tools. Drive supplier compliance with buffer stock requirements and agreements.
- Stakeholder Management Identify and prioritize delivery issues when performance deviates from the plan, assisting in mitigation and resolution. Escalate delivery issues as needed to ensure timely resolution. Manage stakeholder communications regarding shortages and excess inventory, clearly articulating the issue and providing resolution plans with frequent updates. Collaborate with other functions to resolve items impacting supplier delivery, such as invoice clearance, commercial disputes, technical/quality queries, or insufficient purchase order coverage.
- ERP Compliance Review KPIs within the Supplier Management team and present progress and actions during Weekly ERP compliance reviews. Work with suppliers and internal teams to resolve delivery issues not directly linked to suppliers (e.g., stock in transit, GRIP, NCR stock). Operate in line with the Procurement Production System and support its continuous improvement activities.
Position qualifications

- Educated to degree level in a numerate or business discipline, or possess equivalent business experience in planning, manufacturing, or supply chain.
- Membership of a relevant professional body or institute (e.g., APICS CPIM) would be advantageous.
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office applications (Excel is essential) with working knowledge of an ERP system, preferably SAP MRP, Production Planning & Material Management.
- Understanding of load and capacity planning.
- Data analysis and decision-making skills, with comfort in dealing with ambiguity.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all parts of the business, including internal and external stakeholders.
