About Naimuri

Naimuri is a growing tech company with a community of 180 people, primarily based in Salford, Greater Manchester, with additional presence in Cheltenham and London. Our ethos, inspired by Japanese words, focuses on making the UK a safer place. We operate in an Agile-first environment that prioritizes transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

We foster a culture of enablement, empowering our teams with the tools and decision-making authority to remove blockers. Our focus on quality means we value well-written, maintainable code. Active collaboration is key, with engineers working closely with Software Engineers, Delivery Leads, and Product Owners to manage infrastructure like Kubernetes and build automated delivery pipelines using tools such as GitLab.

Our projects vary in length and complexity, including building data analytics tools with Neo4J, developing DevOps platforms, processing digital forensic data, creating search systems with ElasticSearch, building custom workflow tools with Camunda, and developing AI assurance capabilities.

About the Role

As a Platform Engineer at Naimuri, you will be a crucial enabler for your team, applying in-depth knowledge to tackle complex platform challenges and drive efficiency. You will take ownership of large tasks and projects, acting as a technical leader and mentor.

  • Drive the implementation of complex platform features and projects, taking full ownership from design to production and making pragmatic design choices.
  • Deliver reusable infrastructure modules and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like GitLab or other DevOps platforms for consistent and secure deployments.
  • Proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and continuously improve platform environments using logging, monitoring, and analytics tools, leading resolution of difficult issues and major incidents.
  • Embed secure design principles into all work, proactively seeking security advice, and implementing governance approaches such as Role-Based Access Control, policies, and cost control measures.
  • Work with delivery teams to support their use of the platform, coach on best practices, define 'golden paths' and documentation, and provide guidance to junior team members.
  • Stay up-to-date with new platform capabilities, suggest improvements, and represent the team by co-authoring bid documentation for new customer work.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • You thrive on owning complex problems from conception to production.
  • You excel at breaking down large, ambiguous problems into concrete, deliverable steps.
  • You are comfortable challenging the status quo and actively seek process, codebase, and team efficiency improvements.
  • You consider the 'big picture', including cost-efficiency, scalability, and performance in your designs.

This role may not be suitable if you prefer a strictly defined ticket queue, are not interested in mentoring or leadership, or are uncomfortable with ambiguity.

Pay and Benefits

Naimuri offers competitive industry pay, with salary dependent on experience and assessed seniority. A full-time working week is 37.5 hours with flexibility, and part-time options are available. Core hours are 10:00 am - 3:00 pm. Benefits include flexible/hybrid working, performance and company bonuses, a generous pension scheme, medical cover, holiday purchase/buy-back, cycle to work scheme, and a car benefit scheme.
