About the Role: Portfolio Manager – Warheads
Join BAE Systems as a Portfolio Manager, where you will lead high-impact projects, driving innovation, bids, and delivery across product development and new capabilities within the Warheads team. You will act as a key liaison between teams and leadership, leveraging sharp business insight, strong communication, and a solutions-focused mindset to achieve significant outcomes. This role is based at our Glascoed site, with a minimum of 3 days onsite, and offers a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements.
Core Responsibilities:
- Accountable for the successful delivery of projects and portfolios, as well as team results.
- Manage and lead multi-functional teams to achieve project and business objectives.
- Collaborate with Business Development and Engineering to identify and develop new and follow-on business opportunities.
- Ensure robust financial planning and achievement of key business financial objectives, including orders, sales, gross margin, and cash.
- Responsible for deriving accurate forward load data for projects using established business toolsets.
About You:
- Demonstrated experience in building strong customer relationships and achieving high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Proven ability to manage risks and opportunities to the benefit of the programme.
- Experience as a Project/Portfolio/Programme Manager on complex projects/portfolios, with extensive knowledge of Project Management tools, techniques, and practices, ideally within the Defence, Manufacturing, or Engineering sectors.
- Adept at resolving complex project/portfolio/programme related problems that do not have routine solutions.
The Warheads Team:
Within the AWMS (Advance Weapons and Munitions Support) team, you will support the development and qualification of new warhead products. This involves engaging with customers, leading bidding processes, and managing the delivery of production contracts to international defence customers, including the MOD and industry partners, ensuring successful programme execution and stakeholder alignment.
