Airbus Defence and Space is seeking an intern to support the "Life Support & Experiment Facilities" program area. This is an excellent opportunity for students looking to gain practical experience in the field of system engineering.
About the Role
As an intern in the "Life Support & Experiment Facilities" program area, you will contribute to the development of scientific experiment facilities for the ISS and future space stations, as well as life support systems for submarines. The role encompasses the entire project lifecycle, from initial concept to operational use.
Your Responsibilities
- Assist with process engineering tasks related to life support systems in submarines, focusing on CO2 binding and harmful gas control technologies.
- Contribute to the development and construction of experiment facilities for the ISS.
- Tasks include analysis (mechanical, hydraulic, thermal) of test setups, designing test stands, procuring components, installation, commissioning, test supervision, and evaluation.
Your Profile
- Currently enrolled as a student in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a comparable field of study.
- Team-oriented, communicative, and able to work independently.
- Highly organized and adaptable to different situations.
- CAD knowledge (e.g., Solid Works, CATIA, FreeCAD) is advantageous.
- Fluent/negotiable German skills are beneficial.
- Advanced English proficiency.
