About the Role

At Leonardo, we're seeking a Principal ILS Engineer to become a vital part of our dynamic Supportability team. You will play a crucial role in delivering capability across the entire lifecycle of our advanced programmes. Supportability is fundamental to our operations, and in this role, you'll have the unique chance to influence every stage of a product's journey – from initial concept and development, through production and ongoing in-service support, all the way to repair and eventual disposal. This is a position with significant impact, ensuring our solutions are effective, sustainable, and meet customer needs throughout their operational life.

This opportunity is perfect for an experienced Integrated Logistics Support professional who thrives on diverse challenges, enjoys problem-solving, and is ready to advance their career within a collaborative and progressive environment.

What you'll be doing:

  • Define and document In-Service Support strategies, including Repair, Spares, Essential Support Services (ESS), Test, and Field Service Representative (FSR) functions.
  • Coordinate effectively with Subject Matter Experts from various Engineering Disciplines.
  • Interpret Integrated Support System (ISS) requirements and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Conduct Logistic Support Analysis and Reporting (LSAR) for key inputs relevant to each maintenance level of Leonardo’s products.
  • Working within the Radar and Advanced Targeting business lines, you will be instrumental in analysing, assessing, and influencing the supportability characteristics, strategies, and performance of Leonardo’s next-generation Radar and Laser products.

What you'll bring:

  • Knowledge of ISS requirements and KPIs, with the ability to interpret them (e.g., Availability, Fill Rate, Repair Turnaround Time).
  • Knowledge and ability to perform spares modelling (e.g., Opus/Simlox) is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Experience in Product Design.
  • An Honours degree in engineering or a science-based discipline is ideal, along with relevant industry, defence, or other professional experience.

We understand that not everyone will meet every requirement perfectly. If you're enthusiastic and willing to learn, we encourage you to apply even if your experience isn't exhaustive. A positive attitude and a willingness to learn are your most valuable assets.

Security Clearance:

This role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). Additional Personnel Security Controls, referred to as National Security Vetting (NSV), may also apply, potentially including eligibility for Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV). Further information is available on our careers site.
