About the Role
Support the successful AS9100 Rev D recertification programme by assessing Quality Management System (QMS) compliance, identifying gaps, and driving corrective actions. The role will ensure audit readiness, maintain regulatory compliance, and promote continuous improvement across engineering and manufacturing operations within a defence environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Management & Compliance: Conduct gap analyses against AS9100 Rev D requirements. Identify compliance risks and recommend corrective actions. Ensure quality documentation, processes, and records meet regulatory and business standards.
- Audit Planning & Delivery: Develop and execute internal audit plans covering product, process, and management systems. Conduct audits through documentation reviews, interviews, and operational assessments. Produce clear audit reports and track actions through to completion.
- Non-Conformance & Corrective Action Management: Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and associated investigations. Lead root cause analysis activities and implement effective CAPAs. Verify the effectiveness and timely closure of corrective actions.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with process owners and operational teams to resolve audit findings. Provide expert guidance on quality standards and compliance requirements. Support the implementation of process and quality improvements.
- Audit Readiness & Continuous Improvement: Monitor progress against audit readiness plans and report status to management. Support external audits and certification activities. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality performance and operational effectiveness.
Required skills, qualifications and experience
- Strong working knowledge of AS9100 Revision D.
- Certified Lead Auditor with experience in a regulated manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Proven experience in internal and external auditing, Quality Management Systems (QMS), Root Cause Analysis and CAPA methodologies, and Non-Conformance Management.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Lean and/or Six Sigma certification.
- Experience within the aerospace, defence, or complex engineering sectors.
- Previous involvement in AS9100 certification or recertification programmes.
