About the Role: Purchasing Manager - Equipment, Systems and Services Procurement (PESC) for Flight Hours Services (FHS)

Airbus Procurement is seeking a motivated Purchasing Manager to join the Systems Aftermarket Procurement team, focusing on the Flight Hours Services (FHS) division within Airbus Commercial Aircraft. This is a permanent position based in Blagnac, France.

The FHS business is a fast-growing activity supporting over 50 airlines and more than 1,800 aircraft globally. You will become an integral part of a multicultural and internationally exposed team, interacting with various internal stakeholders and a diverse range of equipment and systems suppliers.

Your Mission:

The prime objective of this role is to shape the FHS supplier landscape, manage Airbus's equipment and systems repair capabilities, and negotiate competitive and efficient conditions for Repair and Spares purchases. Your efforts will directly contribute to the competitiveness of Airbus FHS offers for end customers.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage all aspects of the Procurement role within an FHS environment, including defining product strategy for your supplier portfolio (primarily US & European suppliers).
  • Drive call for tenders and negotiate cost reduction opportunities through to contractualisation.
  • Enforce compliance between contract terms and conditions and the activities undertaken by suppliers and Airbus.
  • Commit the company by achieving the signature of contractual agreements.
  • Manage alignment across different company functions, including Flight Hour Services (Customer Services), FHS Programs, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Linefit Procurement.
  • Ensure professional and trusting supplier relationship management with major aeronautical industry players, upholding company ethics and compliance standards.

Scope of Your Responsibility:

The PESC FHS commodity supports all Airbus commercial aircraft programs, including the A220. The procurement volume for your perimeter is approximately $20 million, with a projected 20% yearly increase in spend. This role involves some travel to meet suppliers.

Key Interfaces:

You will collaborate with a wide array of stakeholders, including major multi-national suppliers and Airbus teams such as Customer Services, Programs, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance, Costing, and Legal.

What We Are Looking For:

Hard Skills:

  • Degree level in Engineering, Business School, or University.
  • Experience in Customer Support, Procurement, Operations, or Programmes; project management experience is a plus.
  • Effective contract and international negotiation skills with proven commercial, contractual, and legal awareness.
  • Experience in supplier relationship management or equivalent stakeholder management.
  • Good technical understanding of aircraft systems and big data management tools is a plus.
  • Excellent English proficiency is required.
  • Strong analytical skills to manage multiple projects and negotiations simultaneously.
