About the Role

As a Product Engineer at BAE Systems, you will play a crucial role in developing, improving, and maintaining the tools that underpin our code management, build, deployment, and automation processes. You will be a key collaborator with our development and operations teams, offering expert guidance on best practices for build, deployment, and configuration management. A significant part of your role will involve proactively supporting infrastructure and application issues, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our systems. Furthermore, you will be responsible for the ongoing support, maintenance, and upgrading of critical technology components to guarantee reliable and efficient delivery across all environments.

Core Duties

  • Interface with development and operations teams, demonstrating a strong commitment to the success of project deliverables.
  • Proactively support issues related to infrastructure and application deployments.
  • Provide assurance and guidance on build and deployment best practices and configuration management for development, test, and production environments.
  • Be responsible for providing ongoing support, upgrade, and maintenance for technology components.

Essential Skills

  • Good working knowledge of Linux, Networking, and PKI.
  • Knowledge of the Atlassian suite.
  • Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools.
