The Product Support Engineer will report to the Site Team Leader or Site Supervisor. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct and support routine maintenance and repairs on mtu rail products according to approved manuals and contract requirements, while actively embracing digitalisation.
What you will be doing:
- Perform preventative, scheduled maintenance, and corrective maintenance activities in line with the maintenance schedule, manuals, and contract.
- Actively participate in ongoing continuous improvement initiatives for both maintenance tasks and procedures, offering general suggestions for enhancement.
- Conduct planned maintenance tasks in accordance with operating instructions.
- Attend and participate in customer meetings as necessary to obtain sign-off for work completed on customer equipment.
- Undertake fault finding and repair when required, utilising appropriate technical information such as technical drawings and fault finding guides.
- Complete relevant documentation for all work carried out to accurately record activities for both the company and the customer.
- Be proactively involved in the Company’s HSQE (Health, Safety, Quality, Environment) management processes.
- Maintain cleanliness of the SGB onsite facilities.
- Attend local and factory training courses as necessary to ensure skills remain current.
- Undertake any other related activities reasonably required, such as covering work in another depot.
- Accurately report parts used during service work as per internal processes to ensure effective stock control and accountability.
- Make effective use of IT systems such as Go!Care, C4S, eWeb, Go!Manage, Go, Diasys, Outlook, etc.
Position Qualifications:
- Engineering background.
- NVQ Level 2 in Engineering or Equivalent.
- Outstanding safety awareness.
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, Word, and email. (On-the-job training will be provided for SAP, MTU Business Portal).
Preferred requirements:
- Proactive and with good initiative.
- Strong organisational skills and a flexible attitude.
- Ability to work well with others.
