The Role
As a Project Manager in our UK Defence function, you will be the primary point of contact for projects, leading multidisciplinary teams to achieve both internal and customer objectives. You will be instrumental in delivering projects within the Future Systems Portfolio of the IDT, which focuses on Autonomy/uncrewed research and trials, and advanced Radar research. Your expertise will help establish new business streams and develop digital enablers for maritime delivery and cross-domain integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain positive engagement with portfolio customers, partners, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure the successful delivery of project outcomes against agreed baselines (customer satisfaction, time, cost, and quality).
- Collaborate with Operations and Engineering leadership for efficient delivery of portfolio outcomes.
- Meet orders, revenue, and margin (ORM) portfolio targets in line with IDT performance objectives.
- Ensure all project delivery activities comply with the Operating Framework.
Essential Experience
- 1-4 years of experience leading business, projects, or P3 functions with successful project delivery.
- Proven experience in leading the successful delivery of complex projects, programmes, portfolios, or P3 functions.
- Experience delivering projects to multiple customers.
- Experience working in Defence or other regulated industries.
Essential Qualifications
- An industry-recognised qualification such as Prince2, AMP, or PMP.
Location and Working Hours
This role is based at our Portsmouth site, with working hours of 37 per week. A minimum average site attendance of three days per week is required.
Security Clearance
Applicants for this role must be eligible for SC clearance as a minimum. Many roles at QinetiQ are subject to national security vetting, and existing vetting may be transferable. Please note that nationality and previous nationalities may be a factor for some roles due to additional restrictions.
