About the Role
As a Quality Assurance Engineer at our Devonport Royal Dockyard site, you will play a vital role in ensuring that engineering, infrastructure, and maintenance activities meet the highest standards of quality, compliance, and safety. You’ll support the delivery of upgrades, maintenance, and modifications to key facilities and assets that underpin submarine and warship operations. Your work will directly support the safe and reliable operation of critical infrastructure, enabling long-term defence capability.
What You'll Do
- Provide quality assurance guidance to project stakeholders across planning, delivery, installation, and commissioning.
- Support the development and review of Quality Management Plans and Inspection and Test Plans.
- Monitor quality activities across projects and supply chain, ensuring compliance with standards and requirements.
- Review and assure Life Time Quality Records to confirm design intent and compliance.
- Support senior quality engineers in delivering assurance across the full project lifecycle.
Essential Experience
- Experience applying quality assurance and quality control techniques within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of quality management systems and regulatory frameworks, including ISO 9001.
- Understanding of document control, change management, and continuous improvement processes.
- Awareness of statutory and regulatory requirements relating to quality assurance.
- Experience working with supply chains and project-based teams.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an engineering or quality discipline.
- Completed a recognised apprenticeship in an engineering discipline.
- Knowledge or experience of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
