Are you an experienced Refrigeration Fitter looking to play a vital role in national defence? Babcock is seeking a dedicated professional to join our team at HMNB Clyde, Faslane, near Helensburgh, Argyll and Bute. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety, performance, and reliability of refrigeration systems that support both submarines and surface vessels of the Royal Navy.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance on refrigeration systems, including safety-critical tasks.
- Diagnosing faults and resolving defects to ensure continued operational capability.
- Completing repairs, inspections, and fitting activities across a diverse range of systems.
- Adhering strictly to health and safety legislation and Safe Systems of Work.
- Identifying and suggesting improvements to enhance system performance and overall productivity.
This is a full-time permanent position, working 36 hours per week. The role is based on site at HMNB Clyde, Faslane, with set working times designed to provide consistency and support a healthy work-life balance.
Essential Experience and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in refrigeration within marine, shipbuilding, industrial, transport, or commercial engineering environments.
- Experience working in an engineering maintenance setting.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Transferable skills from other engineering trades will be considered.
- A Level 3 qualification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning or an equivalent qualification.
- F Gas Category 1 certification.
- Other Level 3 engineering qualifications may be considered based on relevant experience.
Security Clearance Requirement:
The successful candidate must be a sole UK National and will be required to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
