The Role: Sales and Operations Planning Manager

As the Sales and Operations Planning Manager, you will hold full accountability for S&OP across the Group. You will collaborate with finance and strategy teams to foster a 'one QinetiQ' mindset, driving business performance through inspired collaboration and trust. Day-to-day, you will lead the business in effective supply planning, ensuring projects have the right people at the right time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the S&OP process achieves agreement on the operational plan, maintaining coherence between operational and financial plans based on shared assumptions.
  • Drive financial and delivery performance of the operational plan through effective demand and supply management to meet organisational targets and strategy.
  • Ensure the business understands and effectively manages the risks and decisions within the operational plan that impact performance.
  • Monitor, report, and communicate the performance of the operational plan, working with Sectors to understand performance and support improvement actions.
  • Accountable for the baseline of the operational plan, managing changes against it while ensuring coherence with the overall strategy and financial plan.
  • Manage and continuously improve the S&OP process, systems, and tools to ensure they deliver the required business outcomes, incorporating lessons learned.

Essential Experience:

  • Extensive experience in leading Sales and Operations Planning across a large matrix organisation.
  • Proven experience operating with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including director-level engagement.
  • Strong leadership capabilities to build and inspire high-performing teams with a focus on continuous improvement and collaboration.
  • Excellent collaboration skills with geographically dispersed stakeholders.
  • Strong management skills to drive successful delivery against agreed plans and challenge behaviours and working practices.
  • High levels of negotiating and influencing skills with the ability to build relationships quickly at all levels and across disciplines.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Degree-level academic qualification in a subject requiring strong analytical, conceptual, and organisational skills.

Work Environment & Location:

This role is based at our Farnborough site, working 37 hours per week with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week. Our Farnborough facility is a hub of creativity, research, and innovation, featuring state-of-the-art technology such as high-energy laser technologies and a unique 5m pressurised wind tunnel.
