Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Sales Manager (m/f/d) for Target Systems to support the Training and Advanced Services Sales department.
You will be based at the Airbus site in Immenstaad am Bodensee, contributing to the future of Connected Intelligence, Space, and Air Power. This dynamic environment fosters technological innovation across various domains, including satellite technology, military aviation, cyber security, Artificial Intelligence, and the Combat Cloud.
Your Mission:
You will strategically lead the sales for our Target System portfolio in core regions. Acting as the link between our technology and global military end-customers, you will secure order intake and shape the future of air warfare simulation.
1. Strategy & Market Expansion (Command & Control)
- Strategic Sales Leadership: Develop and implement a 3-5 year sales strategy for core regions, aligned with the Division's operational and economic goals.
- Market Development & Innovation: Proactively identify new use cases for target display drones and explore new markets through strategic portfolio expansion.
- Partnership Ecosystem: Initiate, negotiate, and secure strategic B2B alliances and collaborations to ensure the sustainable growth of Air Power Training Services.
2. Operational Excellence & Order Intake (Execution)
- Order Intake Responsibility: Independently and goal-orientedly achieve annual order intake targets. You will manage pipeline progress (OP figures) against the program provider's delivery capabilities.
- Complex Transaction Management: Commercially lead highly complex contracts. Analyze cost-risk-benefit structures and leverage deep market expertise to negotiate the optimal balance between our USPs and customer needs.
- Campaign Management: Plan and lead international, coordinated sales campaigns from concept to conversion.
3. Customer Relationship & Voice of the Customer (Liaison)
- Military Customer Interface: Build and maintain trust-based, long-term partnerships with military decision-makers worldwide. Your customer proximity is key to economic success.
- Internal Customer Advocacy: As the central 'Voice of the Customer', you will directly communicate operational requirements to product and service development to ensure maximum operational readiness and service quality.
- Business Case Development: Develop and validate compelling economic justifications (Business Cases) for complex defence contracts.
4. Compliance & Integrity (Governance)
- Regulatory Security: Ensure absolute conformity of all activities with strict export controls, ethical guidelines, and compliance regulations. You are the guarantor of ethical business practices in sensitive international environments.
Your Profile & Qualifications
- Academic & Professional Foundation: Completed studies in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or an MBA.
- Technical Expertise: Profound knowledge and long-standing experience in military air defence and associated high-value technology.
- Sales Track Record: Proven success in international B2B/B2G sales of complex, high-value system solutions.
- Strategic & Operational Competence: Ability to develop and implement long-term (3–5 year) country and portfolio strategies, with experience in major project management.
- Leadership Competence: Demonstrated leadership experience, not only hierarchical but also strong lateral leadership to effectively align interdisciplinary campaign teams (Engineering, Marketing, Legal).
- Commercial Acumen: Deep understanding of business cases, cost-benefit analyses, and risk assessments. Strong closing skills in complex, multi-stage contract negotiations.
- Market Network: Existing, active network and in-depth customer knowledge in the Air Defence environment, which you can actively leverage for market development.
- Strategic Vision: Analytical ability to identify disruptive market trends (especially drone technologies) early and leverage them strategically.
- Resilience & Poise: Resilient, confident demeanor in international negotiation situations. You proactively act as the 'Voice of the Customer' and strategically implement customer interests.
- Integrity & Compliance: Unconditional adherence to ethical standards, export control regulations, and compliance frameworks. You view compliance not as an obstacle, but as an integral part of secure business processes.
- Language Skills: Fluent in German and English (minimum C1 level).
