About the Role:
You will be responsible for implementing and leading the Air’s Help Desk service, acting as a “Security Front Door” across Air (UK) sites. This role is pivotal in innovating how we achieve security outcomes across the BAE Systems Air sector, ensuring we remain safe, secure, and compliant.
Core Duties:
- Lead a 3rd party vendor team of security staff to deliver a consistent service.
- Utilise your expertise as a Security SME to shape and drive performance, agreeing and managing performance targets.
- Drive innovation in how the Air sector triages and manages security support into the business.
- Maintain a number of Core Services for multiple Air Sector Sites, including Access Control, Visitor Management, Permit Issue, and 1st Line Security Enquiry Responses.
- Collaborate with the Senior Manager Operations to drive collaboration objectives and support the creation of a “one team” approach.
- As a Security SME, ensure the Helpdesk has access to and can inform policy creation across the security function.
- Maintain KPIs for the Air sector, ensuring an evidence-led approach.
- Contribute to site operations and incident management planning and response as a Security SME.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Be a Security SME with experience from military, defence industry, or national security settings.
- Demonstrated experience and interest in delivering data-led security initiatives.
- Experience in process management with a keen eye for detail, including creating and leveraging security policies.
- Ability to work within defined processes and procedures while exercising judgment to determine appropriate solutions.
- Strong influencing skills and experience in interacting and communicating with different management levels.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, working with the wider team to develop solutions.
