The Role
As a Senior Business Manager, you will take on a pivotal leadership role with real influence over how a complex business unit performs and grows. This is far more than a planning role – you’ll have responsibility for operational delivery, commercial performance, and strategic direction, balancing immediate priorities with long-term growth.
You will work at the heart of critical nuclear programmes, supporting small and advanced modular reactor initiatives that are shaping the future of energy and national resilience. Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams to deliver operational performance against budgets, schedules, and key performance indicators.
- Manage financial performance, including planning, forecasting, and driving profitability across the business unit.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships while supporting bids and contract delivery activities.
- Coordinate business planning and reporting to provide clear, data-driven insights for decision-making.
- Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and overall performance.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week, and can be based in Bristol, Warrington or Leicester. Hybrid working arrangements are available.
Essential Experience:
- Proven experience managing or influencing profit and loss, budgets, and financial performance.
- Experience delivering multiple projects or contracts simultaneously within a complex environment.
- Strong track record of leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Ability to drive operational efficiency, performance improvement, and resource optimisation.
- Experience managing customer relationships and commercial outcomes within regulated sectors such as nuclear, defence, or infrastructure.
Qualifications:
- A qualification in a relevant technical or project management discipline (or equivalent experience).
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
