Senior Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Engineer
Cavendish Nuclear is seeking a Senior Electrical, Control and Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer to join their team and contribute to creating a safe and secure world. This is a permanent, full-time role, working 37 hours per week, with a flexible and hybrid working arrangement.
As a Senior EC&I Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the design, integration, and maintenance of high-integrity EC&I systems across nuclear facilities. This role is a career-defining opportunity to deliver engineering excellence in a safety-critical environment, with your work directly supporting national defence, clean energy, and the future of sustainable infrastructure.
The Role:
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Delivering high-quality administrative and coordination support across projects and teams.
- Liaising with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and workflow.
- Maintaining accurate records, documentation, and reporting in line with company standards.
- Monitoring progress against deadlines and proactively resolving issues to keep tasks on track.
- Contributing to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline processes.
The role is based at one of our key locations: Moor Row (Cumbria), Warrington (Cheshire), Leicester (Leicestershire), or Bristol. Hybrid working patterns are available, with an expectation of three days on site. Travel to customer sites may be required depending on project needs.
Essential Experience:
- Design and delivery of EC&I systems in regulated environments.
- Application of nuclear safety standards such as IEC 61508 and BS EN 61511.
- Working within cross-functional teams on complex engineering projects.
- Engagement with regulators, clients, and suppliers to resolve technical challenges.
- Production and review of technical documentation, including specifications and safety case contributions.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related discipline.
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards it is preferred.
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
