Senior Finance Business Partner

At Babcock, we are committed to creating a safe and secure world. We are looking for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join our team at the Devonport Royal Dockyard site in Plymouth, Devon. This role offers hybrid working arrangements, with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.

As a Senior Finance Business Partner, you will be instrumental in providing accurate and timely financial insight and control across key defence programmes. Your responsibilities will include maximising value, performance, and profitability. You will work closely with project and business leaders to ensure strong financial governance, support critical decision-making, and contribute to the successful delivery of complex defence infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities:

  • Producing monthly and quarterly project financial reports and status packs for management and senior leadership.
  • Analysing project performance, supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial control activities.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring robust audit trails and compliance with internal and external requirements.
  • Raising customer invoices and managing financial documentation in line with contract terms.
  • Supporting project teams with financial insight to enable effective decision-making and delivery.

What We're Looking For:

  • Strong working knowledge of financial systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience in financial reporting, analysis, and project or management accounting.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work to high quality standards.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience working within a structured, regulated, or project-based environment.
  • A recognised accounting qualification such as Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Association of Chartered Accountants (ACA), or equivalent.

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience with financial systems such as Integrated Financial Systems or business analytics tools.

Security Clearance:

The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
