The Role

As a Senior Financial Accountant, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering accurate, high-quality financial reporting and strengthening financial controls across a complex, global organisation. Working within our Central Accounting Team, you’ll take ownership of fixed asset and lease accounting, helping to support business-critical investment decisions while ensuring compliance and consistency across the Group.

Day-to-day, you’ll gain exposure across the business, working with stakeholders at all levels while developing your career in a purpose-driven organisation at the heart of defence, aerospace and engineering.

  • Managing fixed asset and lease accounting in line with regulatory standards including IFRS 16
  • Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and financial reports
  • Supporting month-end and year-end close activities across multiple entities
  • Collaborating with finance teams, auditors, and business stakeholders to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Driving improvements and standardisation across accounting processes and controls

This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.

Essential Experience

  • Demonstrating strong experience in IFRS 16 within a complex organisation
  • Managing balance sheets, reconciliations and financial reporting activities
  • Working across multi-entity or international environments
  • Using advanced Excel and finance systems such as SAP, Navision or IFS
  • Applying an audit mindset or having previous audit experience (advantageous)

Qualifications

  • Qualified Accountant (such as ACA, ACCA, or equivalent)
