Senior Industrial Engineer
Boeing is looking for a Senior Industrial Engineer to support the Global Field Operations (GFO) Supply Chain Industrial Engineering organization in the United Kingdom. This hybrid role involves performing some work onsite at a designated location, with potential for future changes at the hiring team's discretion.
Position Responsibilities:
- Apply advanced Industrial Engineering concepts, techniques, analysis, and decision tools to promote and implement changes in manufacturing engineering and service operations.
- Independently develop models, databases, and spreadsheets to analyze data (e.g., statistics, operations research, engineering economics) and provide summary analysis and metrics for consultation to customers.
- Utilize advanced industrial engineering techniques and concepts in product and process design teams throughout all phases of the product lifecycle to ensure robust product design and work statements that meet program requirements.
- Research, design, develop, improve, and implement processes to enhance schedule performance, lower costs, and improve quality through the application of advanced Lean and other Industrial Engineering concepts for large-scale systems integration and asset utilization.
- Independently manage, define, negotiate, and control the scope, cost, and timing of projects, performing risk analysis using project management tools (e.g., work breakdown structure, precedence network, resource allocation).
- Ensure projects are completed within budget. Utilize advanced engineering methods (e.g., mathematical models, simulation, statistics) to develop optimal process designs and efficient utilization of resources (e.g., facilities, personnel, materials, equipment) in the creation and validation of products.
- Analyze and design value streams, including capability, capacity (e.g., make/buy, supplier selection, risk analysis, supplier performance), throughput, workflow, and logistics (e.g., critical path, lead-time, transportation, factory layout).
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Aerospace, or similar are preferred).
- Fluency in English Language.
- Availability to travel up to 50% of working time.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 8+ years of related working experience.
- Master’s Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Aerospace, or similar are preferred).
Typical Education & Experience:
- Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 8+ years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g., Master's degree with 6+ years of related work experience).
