Senior Leader – Strategy and Transformation

This role is pivotal in leading and contributing to teams focused on IT service transformation, critically shaping the evolution of our digital, data, and cyber functions. You will provide thought leadership in IT service and organisational design, ensuring our strategies are forward-looking and precisely aligned with business needs.
This is a hands-on position where you will drive transformation through mentoring, business change activities, and robust stakeholder engagement. A key part of your role will be developing compelling business cases and ensuring the successful delivery of their outcomes. You will champion and implement change to significantly strengthen organisational capability across our digital, data, and cyber services.
Core Duties:
- Develop and implement comprehensive IT transformation strategies aligned with the organisation’s overall business objectives.
- Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and trends to determine their potential impact on the organisation.
- Lead and manage IT transformation projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Facilitate organisational change, including the development and implementation of change management plans and effective communication strategies.
- Select and implement new technologies and solutions that support the organisation’s business goals, including evaluating areas for improvement of current IT systems and infrastructure.
- Utilise data analytics to measure the impact of IT transformation initiatives and identify areas for optimisation.
Essential Skills:
- A track record in challenging the status quo and bringing others together to design and implement the right outcomes for your customer.
- Proven consultancy skills and the ability to influence without authority.
- Experience of major global IT transformation programmes across multiple security tiers.
- Experience of major IT outsourcing contracts.
- Training and experience in ITIL, SIAM, Agile, and Product Management approaches.
The Enterprise IT Strategy & Transformation Team is at the forefront of significant IT transformation within BAE Systems, encompassing major supplier changes and the restructuring of our Digital, Data, and Cyber functions. This team is deeply involved in designing and delivering IT transformations across multiple security tiers.
This role is based in Preston with hybrid working arrangements available. Salary is circa £82,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
