Role Overview
This role is accountable for the management and enhancement of accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) within the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. You will ensure that robust Engineering Processes are implemented in manufacturing, detailed within the process routing, and align with the business's MRPII disciplines. A key responsibility includes managing formal Engineering Changes agreed upon with customers and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
You will contribute by:
- Being responsible for translating Design Engineering data and specifications into clear and concise work instructions for manufacturing assemblies or products, meeting customer and regulatory authority requirements.
- Maintaining, developing, and compiling detail packages of work and Conditions of Supply for external manufacturing with suppliers.
- Driving Continuous Improvement initiatives to achieve significant productivity and quality enhancements through: analyzing and eliminating waste (seven wastes), developing and implementing production smoothing methods and Kanban systems, identifying and implementing methods to reduce set-up and overall cycle times, and effectively utilizing problem-solving tools and techniques.
- Working closely with the Design team to identify and implement cost reduction initiatives and product quality improvements.
- Liaising with operators, design teams, and regulatory authorities to ensure product integrity and compliance.
- Supporting the Quality and Engineering Team Leader in discharging people management responsibilities, including Performance Development Reviews (PDRs) and training/development.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Relevant engineering experience within a Manufacturing Engineering environment.
- Knowledge of engineering systems and the ability to deploy the Continuous Improvement Toolset, including concepts like the Seven Wastes.
- Awareness of drawings and systems as applied within major customers such as Boeing and Airbus.
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Packages, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access.
