About the Role
As a Senior Mechanical Designer at Cavendish Nuclear, you will be instrumental in creating a safe and secure world through innovative, industry-leading design. This is a unique opportunity to act as a key point of contact for engineering colleagues and stakeholders throughout the design lifecycle, contributing to critical reviews, resolving technical challenges, and ensuring robust, compliant design outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Allocate design tasks, supporting and guiding a team of Designers to ensure high-quality discipline outputs.
- Lead inter-disciplinary coordination to meet regulatory and company standards.
- Prepare and check design drawings, ensuring compliance with ISO standards and project requirements.
- Advise on the best methods, tools, and techniques for design tasks and provide technical support to the design team.
- Liaise with customers to support relationship development, resolve technical issues, and ensure progress transparency.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential Experience:
- Experience working in a detailed design environment.
- Strong knowledge of CAD tools and engineering drawing practices.
- Demonstrable experience providing technical leadership within a multi-discipline design environment.
- Incorporated Engineer status (desirable).
Qualifications:
- HNC/HND (minimum) in a relevant discipline or equivalent qualification.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
