About the Role

You will take the lead in hardware requirements capture, preliminary design, and detailed design activities. A significant part of the role involves performing various analysis tasks to validate technical decisions and foster an innovative mindset by identifying opportunities to enhance design efficiency and improve working practices.

Core Duties

  • Collaborate within an integrated, multidisciplinary team to optimize solutions and minimize impacts from dependencies with other engineering disciplines.
  • Provide technical guidance and support for the development and delivery of all aspects of digital and/or analogue electronics solutions.
  • Coach and develop the skills of junior team members, fostering a collaborative learning environment.

The Hardware Team

As a Senior/Principal Hardware Engineer, you will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team formulating and optimizing innovative hardware engineering solutions. You will work on products such as Helmet Mounted & Head-Up Displays, Mission Computers, Flight Controls, Active Inceptors, and other associated safety-critical technology. Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree/HND in electronics engineering or an equivalent qualification.
  • Proven knowledge and experience of digital and/or analogue electronics technologies.
  • Experience working through the engineering development lifecycle, from concept to product certification (e.g., DO-254).
  • Demonstrated appreciation of cost and schedule constraints on designs to meet programme needs.
  • Robust understanding of product design and work package control.
  • Familiarity with design tools such as Mentor Graphics Expedition Enterprise, Simetrix, and LT Spice.
