About the Role

As a Senior Programme Manager within QinetiQ's Science and Technology division, you will be instrumental in developing some of the company’s most exciting and advanced products. You will hold full responsibility and accountability for understanding and delivering the programme vision, objectives, and benefits within a complex operational environment. Your day-to-day activities will involve leading and motivating Project Managers within the programme, ensuring effective team collaboration, and being accountable for overall programme performance throughout its lifecycle to ensure successful delivery to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Integrated Planning: Shape and structure the programme to achieve its vision by ensuring projects have appropriate Project Management Plans (PMPs) and secured resources for delivery within scope, quality, time, and budget.
  • Budget & Cost Control: Collaborate closely with the Portfolio Office to establish programme controls and ensure accurate, timely performance information is available.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify and assess programme-level risks, plan and implement responses, and manage issues impacting the programme.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Foster a collaborative approach, engaging, influencing, and collaborating with all internal (Finance, Commercial, People, Enterprise Services, Portfolio Office, Technical & Supply Chain) and external stakeholders to ensure ongoing commitment.
  • Requirements Management: Capture, assess, and justify stakeholder wants and needs to satisfy identified programme requirements and benefits.

Essential Experience:

  • Extensive experience working within project teams and managing complex programmes.
  • Demonstrable experience managing programmes valued between £10 – 100 million.
  • Previous experience in complex, multidisciplinary environments.
  • Detailed knowledge of lifecycles and recognised as an expert.

Essential Qualifications:

  • APM PMQ, ChPP, PMI PgMP, or AIPM CPPD, Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) Foundation & Practitioner, or demonstrable progress towards an equivalent certification from an accredited body.

This role is based at our Farnborough site, requiring 37 hours per week with a minimum average of three days attendance on site. Travel to other QinetiQ and customer sites will be expected.
