About the Role
As a Senior Project Manager, you will provide strategic leadership for multiple infrastructure and construction projects, ensuring their successful delivery against stringent cost, schedule, quality, and performance objectives. This role extends beyond project execution, focusing on enhancing project management capabilities, championing governance excellence, and influencing key decisions at a senior level.
What You'll Do
- Lead the delivery of multiple concurrent construction and infrastructure projects throughout their entire lifecycle.
- Manage, coach, and develop Project Managers and broader project delivery teams to achieve exceptional performance.
- Drive robust project governance, implement assurance activities, and review critical project plans and deliverables.
- Engage effectively with senior internal and external stakeholders, serving as an escalation point for project risks and programme-level decisions.
- Oversee portfolio planning, resource allocation, forecasting, and financial performance across a range of projects.
This is a full-time, permanent role working 37 hours per week on-site at Rosyth.
Essential Experience
- Significant experience in delivering large-scale construction and infrastructure projects across the full lifecycle.
- Proven track record of managing multiple projects, programmes, or portfolios with accountability for cost, schedule, and quality.
- Demonstrable experience leading and developing Project Managers or project delivery teams.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial frameworks (e.g., NEC, JCT, FIDIC).
- Experience operating within regulated environments, with a strong knowledge of compliance, health, safety, and quality requirements.
Qualifications
- Degree in Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Professional membership with a recognised institution (e.g., CIOB, RICS, CIBSE, APM) or equivalent.
- Formal Project Management qualification (e.g., APM, PRINCE2) or equivalent.
- SMSTS certification or equivalent construction site management qualification.
- IOSH qualification or equivalent health and safety certification.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Please note that eligibility may be affected by your nationality, place of birth, current or former citizenship, and residency status.
