About the Role
Lockheed Martin UK – Strategic Systems is seeking an experienced Senior Project Planner to join our team based in Helensburgh. This role operates on a 4xFlex working pattern, offering a 4-day working week (Monday - Thursday) with hybrid working flexibility, typically allowing 1-2 days per week from home.
As a Senior Project Planner, you will be instrumental in shaping the future planning architecture for LMUK SS contract outputs. You will collaborate with senior stakeholders to bridge strategic objectives with daily operations, taking ownership of complex project lifecycles from proposal through to execution. This position is crucial for delivering some of the UK’s most complex and innovative engineering programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the end-to-end lifecycle of planning and schedule management in support of programme capture and execution.
- Refine and manage the Integrated Master Plan for LMUK SS’ contract renewal effort.
- Lead proposal preparation planning, including the development of planning artefacts for solicitation response.
- Interface with program management, senior management, and the contractual customer as the program's planning integrator.
- Manage the validation of cost and schedule integration for effective program performance management.
- Proactively identify commercial risks, establish mitigation strategies, and adjust timelines as needed.
- Gather progress data and generate robust reports tracking actuals against baseline forecasts.
- Ensure all deliverables are compliant with LM's command media.
- Manage the resolution of schedule conflicts, develop and implement work-around strategies and tactical alternatives.
- Support business rhythms and manage the generation of Schedule Information for client and management reviews.

Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
- Significant experience as a Senior Project Planner or in a similar Project Planning role.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project, or similar Project Planning software.
- Experience managing Resource Loaded Schedules.
- Awareness of Earned Value Management and Critical Path Management.
- Ability to ensure best planning practice is adhered to, even under pressure.
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to quickly adapt to new tools, systems, and processes.
Desirable Experience
- Experience in Earned Value Management.
- Experience with cost planning & reporting.
- Background in Defence, MoD, or other complex engineering environments.

The successful candidate must achieve the appropriate level (DV) of security clearance.
