The Role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a key role in delivering some of the UK's most complex and strategically important infrastructure programmes within our Naval Nuclear business. This is more than a traditional quantity surveying position. You'll provide commercial leadership across major engineering and construction projects that directly support national defence and security.

Working alongside project teams, Ministry of Defence stakeholders and supply chain partners, you'll help drive successful project outcomes through effective commercial management, contract administration and risk mitigation. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your career in a highly regulated, technically challenging environment while contributing to programmes that make a real difference.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing commercial activities across infrastructure, engineering and construction projects.
  • Supporting contract administration, cost control, change management and compensation events.
  • Collaborating with project managers, suppliers and stakeholders to maximise value and ensure contractual compliance.
  • Identifying, assessing and mitigating commercial risks while protecting Babcock's commercial position.
  • Delivering commercial reporting, governance activities and strategic commercial support throughout the project lifecycle.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week, providing hybrid working arrangements with on average 3 days onsite and the rest of the week working from home.

Essential Experience:

  • Demonstrating strong commercial management experience within engineering and/or construction environments.
  • Applying detailed knowledge of NEC3 and/or JCT contracts within project delivery settings.
  • Supporting large, complex contracts, bids and commercial strategies.
  • Managing cost control, change management and compensation events.
  • Building effective relationships with project teams, supply chain partners and senior stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or Building Services Quantity Surveying.

Security Clearance:
