About Us

Naimuri is a growing tech company with a community of 180 people, primarily based in Salford, Greater Manchester, with significant presences in Cheltenham and London. Our ethos, derived from two Japanese words, emphasizes a holistic approach to technology, process, infrastructure, people, culture, and leadership. We are dedicated to making the UK a safer place to be. We operate in an Agile-first environment, valuing transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Our culture fosters enablement, focusing on providing the tools and autonomy needed to succeed, and a strong emphasis on quality with well-written, maintainable code serving as a benchmark.

We engage in diverse projects, ranging from data analytics and DevOps platforms to digital forensics, search systems, custom workflow tools, AI assurance, and LLM performance evaluation.

About the Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in developing complex features that directly advance our mission. This role provides autonomy for high-impact decisions, the space to tackle difficult technical challenges, and the support of a robust engineering community. Your contribution extends beyond your own code to elevating the entire team's performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the Solution: Lead the development of large, intricate features from initial design through to final delivery, often with minimal direct supervision.
  • Be an SME Champion: Serve as a subject matter expert, spearheading technical debates, resolving the most challenging defects, and acting as a key point of contact for your team and the wider business.
  • Enable Your Team: Proactively enhance team efficiency, facilitate the onboarding of new members, remove obstacles, and actively work to break down knowledge silos.
  • Mentor & Grow: Act as a role model by mentoring other engineers, supporting their skill development, and improving our standards for code quality and documentation.
  • Shape the Bigger Picture: Contribute to the development of technical roadmaps, critically evaluate design choices, and collaborate with customers to identify and define new opportunities.

We are looking for individuals who thrive on owning complex problems from conception to production, enjoy deconstructing ambiguous challenges into actionable steps, and are comfortable questioning the status quo to drive improvements. You should also be adept at considering the broader implications of your designs, including cost-efficiency, scalability, and performance.

This role may not be suitable if you prefer a strictly defined ticket queue, are not interested in mentoring, or are uncomfortable with the ambiguity inherent in novel challenges.
