Senior Stores and Warehouse Operative

The Role
As a Senior Stores and Warehouse Operative, you will be instrumental in supporting our mission-critical defence and engineering operations. Working within the Mission Systems team, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that equipment, materials, and assets are stored safely, tracked accurately, and delivered efficiently. This role is vital for keeping projects running smoothly and contributing to national security.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Manage the safe storage, handling, and organisation of all equipment and materials within the warehouse.
- Support collections and deliveries, ensuring precise tracking and recording of all items.
- Conduct regular inspections of storage systems to ensure compliance with all safety standards.
- Carry out disposal activities and general stores support tasks as required.
- Perform Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) on equipment and ensure adherence to quality and safety procedures.
This is a full-time, permanent position of 37 hours per week, based by the North Yorkshire Coast. The role operates flexibly around core hours of 8am-4pm, Monday to Thursday, and 8am-3:30pm on Friday.
Essential Experience:
- Adequate knowledge of and compliance with Health and Safety policies and regulations.
- Clear and effective communication skills with team members, clients, and superiors.
- Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Must possess or be willing to obtain a Forklift driving licence.
- Demonstrable strong organisational and communication skills.
Qualifications:
- Hold or be willing to obtain City & Guilds 2377-22 Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) qualification.
- Possess a full, UK Driving Licence.
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance. Applicants must be Sole UK citizens.
