About the Role

Help keep mission-critical operations moving as a Senior Stores and Warehouse Operative by the North Yorkshire Coast, within a 25-mile radius of RAF Flyingdales. At Babcock, you'll play a vital role in supporting mission-critical defence and engineering operations within our Mission Systems team. You will ensure equipment, materials, and assets are safely stored, tracked, and delivered, keeping projects running efficiently and supporting national security.

Day-to-day Responsibilities:

  • Managing the safe storage, handling, and organisation of equipment and materials within the warehouse.
  • Supporting collections and deliveries, ensuring items are tracked and recorded accurately.
  • Conducting inspections of storage systems and maintaining compliance with safety standards.
  • Carrying out disposal activities and general stores support tasks as directed.
  • Performing Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) on equipment and ensuring compliance with quality and safety procedures.

Role Details:

This role is full-time, 37 hours per week, based by the North Yorkshire Coast. Working hours are flexible around core hours of 8am-4pm Monday to Thursday and 8am-3:30pm on a Friday.

Essential Experience:

  • Adequate knowledge of and compliance with Health and Safety policy and regulations.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with team members, clients, and superiors.
  • IT Literacy with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Must possess or be willing to obtain a Forklift driving license.
  • Demonstrable strong organisational and communication skills.

Qualifications:

  • Hold or be willing to obtain City & Guilds 2377-22 Portable Appliance Testing (PAT).
  • Possess a full UK Driving Licence.

Security Clearance:

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance for this role and must be Sole UK. Eligibility may be affected by place of birth, nationality, current or former citizenship, and residency.
