Senior Systems Engineer

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping engineering excellence across our Naval Nuclear programmes. As part of our Whole Boat & Platform Systems Engineering team, you will help to drive engineering performance, improve processes, and influence how complex engineering systems are delivered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead transversal engineering projects and deliver technical solutions to complex engineering problems.
  • Implement engineering processes, governance, and capability plans that improve how we operate.
  • Undertake engineering investigations, producing clear reports and recommendations.
  • Carry out project management activities including planning, delivery, and cost control.
  • Liaise with customers and stakeholders to present solutions, progress, and outcomes.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week, and provides hybrid working arrangements. The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance.

Essential Experience:

  • Understanding and delivery of system technical requirements.
  • Experience driving innovation and improving engineering effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Proven experience managing projects in fast‑moving environments, delivering on time, on budget, and to quality standards.
  • Familiarity with commercial and subcontract processes.
  • Proficiency in project management tools.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or Level 5 qualification in a relevant STEM discipline OR substantial relevant experience can be considered.
  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status or actively working towards.
