About the Role

As a Senior Systems Engineer at Cavendish Nuclear, you will have an extraordinary role contributing to a safe and secure world. You will be instrumental in delivering high-impact systems engineering across a major, long-term nuclear programme, working from our Bristol or Warrington, Cheshire sites. This is a full-time, permanent position, with hybrid working patterns available, and involves 37 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct systems engineering activities across complex programmes.
  • Allocate tasks and oversee the delivery from a team of systems engineers.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers to grow capability within the team.
  • Deliver hands-on systems engineering, including requirements, architecture, and integration.
  • Lead and contribute to technical and design reviews with key stakeholders.

Essential Experience

  • Strong systems engineering experience across requirements engineering, system architecture, integration, verification, and validation.
  • Proven experience in leading or mentoring engineers within engineering teams.
  • Experience working on complex, multidisciplinary engineering programmes.
  • Ability to review technical outputs and lead engineering or design reviews.
  • Application of full lifecycle systems engineering expertise.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership is desirable.

Security Clearance Requirement

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
