About the Role

Be part of the A400M program, a versatile European tactical airlifter, and contribute to the future of its training and development. We specialize in creating advanced simulation software, from Full Flight Simulators (FFS) for pilot training to test facilities for avionics integration and certification. Your work will ensure aircraft updates are accurately reflected in both training and test environments, utilizing a tech stack centered on C/C++.

Your Responsibilities

  • Translate high-level operational and system requirements from various stakeholders into high-fidelity simulation models.
  • Develop simulation models based on avionics software to accurately represent aircraft equipment and systems.
  • Implement robust software components, primarily using C++, and integrate both in-house and third-party modules.
  • Design and define simulation interfaces in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain and modernize the software architecture of our existing simulation products.
  • Ensure high software quality through the implementation of unit tests and performing comprehensive integration testing.
  • Drive development excellence by creating tools for automation, code generation, and optimized build pipelines.
  • Support the entire deployment cycle, from initial model development to successful integration and customer acceptance.
  • Occasional travel will be necessary due to the international environment.

What We're Looking For

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.

Professional Experience

  • Relevant experience in software development, including software design, procedural and object-oriented programming, and unit, integration, and system testing.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ and knowledge of distributed systems and simulation frameworks.

Technical Skills

  • Profound knowledge of C/C++.
  • Knowledge of distributed systems and simulation frameworks.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python).
  • Familiarity with build systems (e.g., CMake) and packaging (e.g., conan.io, RPM, DEB).
  • Experience with QT Framework (e.g., QML/QtQuick).
  • Proficiency with Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Experience with version control systems, office applications, and Atlassian tools (e.g., Confluence, Jira).
  • Experience with CI/CD or DevOps tools (e.g., Jenkins) and software development environments (e.g., VS Code).

Work Methods and Soft Skills

  • Familiarity and agreement with agile working methods.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a large team.
  • Proactive approach.

Language Skills

  • English: Business fluent.
  • German, Spanish, French, or Italian are a plus.
