Software & Control Systems Engineers
Rolls‑Royce is looking for talented Software & Control Systems Engineers to support a variety of current and future projects within our Defence business. Our dedicated Software Systems teams are at the forefront of developing the control, monitoring, and software solutions that ensure our aerospace products are safe, reliable, and perform at the highest level.
These teams are involved in the entire engineering lifecycle, from defining initial requirements and system architecture, through to development, rigorous verification, and final deployment. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in software development, controls engineering, systems integration, and model-based design.

What we're looking for:
- A degree in Software, Controls, Electronics, or Engineering (or equivalent practical experience).
- Proven experience in developing software or control systems.
- A solid understanding of systems architecture and integration.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience within regulated or safety-critical environments is considered an advantage.
To work within the Rolls‑Royce Defence Early Life Cycle business, candidates must hold or be eligible for Security Check (SC) clearance. Rolls‑Royce will provide support for the application process if you do not currently possess this.
Due to the sensitive nature of the work and the need to protect specific assets, we can only consider applications from individuals who are UK nationals. In some approved MoD cases, dual nationals may also be considered.
As part of our selection process, candidates in specific locations may be required to complete an online assessment, which may include cognitive and behavioural aptitude testing relevant to the role. Detailed instructions will be provided if this is required.
