Role Description: Solutions Architect
As a Solution Architect, you will be responsible for the design and implementation of solutions across the Naval Ships environment. You will be accountable for governing architecture, driving the adoption of standards, and managing the long-term health of the IT estate. You will work on international programmes and have the opportunity to drive digital transformation into a manufacturing environment. Core Duties:
- Defining the solution architecture and design for the project to meet business and system requirements, within the project constraints of cost and timescale, and the agreed architectural and technical framework.
- Capturing the as-is and to-be application, data, and technology architectures for the assigned projects.
- Providing Project Technical Authority leadership, ensuring that the solution architecture and design is as required and is communicated effectively.
- Providing design management and governance through the operation of change and configuration management activities.
Essential Skills:
- Understanding of IT / software development lifecycle (including methodologies e.g., Agile) and associated reviews, policies, standards, and governance processes.
- Proven experience in the design, development, and deployment of major IT applications and how those applications can support the business processes.
- Proven knowledge and experience of working within architecture frameworks e.g., TOGAF.
Location and Working Arrangements:
UK Wide locations including Scotstoun, Filton, New Malden, and Portsmouth. This role offers hybrid working arrangements, with 2-3 days per week expected on site. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.
