Role Description: SPACE Mission Operations Engineer

This is an exciting opportunity within the Space Services and Operations Team, ideal for a self-starter. You will be responsible for generating mission operations plans for a cluster of satellites, supporting multiple collects daily. The role demands knowledge of spacecraft operations and system engineering, utilizing mission planning tools to schedule satellite collects and submitting tasking requests to third parties for additional satellite data.

A background in service operations or familiarity with ITIL practices would be beneficial but is not essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Generating mission operation plans for a cluster of satellites, supporting multiple collects per day.
• Scheduling plans within satellite capabilities.
• Querying tasking requests and results via the Customer User Interface tool.
• Tracking the progress of data delivery.
• Reporting on actual versus planned satellite collects.
• Raising tickets with the Support Desk for any operational issues.

Essential Requirements:

• Experience with Spacecraft Operations planning and delivery.
• Ability to review power management, memory limits, and thermal constraints.
• Experience preparing and executing payload and mission operation plans.
• Skill in translating mission requirements into conflict-free schedules for satellite transmission.

Location and Working Model:

This role is based in Alton, Hampshire. We embrace Hybrid Working, with a model of 3 days onsite per week, allowing for increased flexibility and a better balance between work and personal life.
