About Airbus Defence and Space
Airbus Defence and Space is seeking a **Strategic Technology Lead** to join our **Airbus Public Safety & Security (PSS) department** in Elancourt, France. PSS is a global leader in mission-critical communication and collaboration solutions, currently undergoing a significant transformation towards broadband connectivity, digitalized applications, end-to-end software, and hybrid operations. We serve governments, emergency services, defense, and industrial sectors worldwide, connecting those who protect us.
The Opportunity
As a **Strategic Technology Lead**, you will be instrumental in guiding PSS through its transformative era. Your responsibilities will encompass:
- Research & Technology (R&T): Engage in EU & national research projects, co-creation with stakeholders, and experimentations, ensuring alignment with the business roadmap.
- Technology Strategy: Monitor trends, manage the strategic roadmap, scout for partnerships, and define long-term technology vision.
- Standardization: Participate in 3GPP/ETSI, advocate for standards, and facilitate knowledge transfer to ensure business value.
- Regulation: Stay abreast of spectrum, security, privacy, and compliance with regulations like NIS2, Cyber Resilience Act, and ITU/NATO directives.
- Patent Portfolio Management: Foster IP mindset, drive patent filing, optimize costs, and protect intellectual property.
- Industry Cooperation: Collaborate with industry bodies like TCCA, AFNUM, and BAPCO, contributing to white papers and market promotion.
- Internal & External Representation: Represent PSS at tech events, hackathons, and in media, enhancing external visibility and facilitating internal knowledge sharing.
You will work within a centralized, cross-functional CTO organization to enhance information sharing, governance, and efficiency across PSS’s engineering, sales, operations, and partner-management teams.

Your Profile
- Experience: 15+ years in telecom/mission-critical communications, with at least 8 years in senior technology leadership.
- Technical Depth: Proven expertise in 4G/5G, 5G-Advanced, 6G, broadband radio, satellite backhaul, AI-driven networking, and quantum-resilient security.
- Strategic Vision: Ability to translate market trends and regulatory shifts into actionable roadmaps and partnerships.
- Standardization & Regulation: Hands-on experience in 3GPP/ETSI working groups, spectrum management, and global regulatory frameworks.
- IP & Patent Management: Understanding of patent filing, portfolio optimization, and IP strategy.
- Leadership: Track record of building high-performing, cross-functional teams; excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Global Mindset: Comfortable operating across multiple geographies, cultures, and time zones.
