Workshop Supervisor at Babcock

Babcock is seeking a Workshop Supervisor to provide first-line leadership for an operational team at Leconfield, East Riding of Yorkshire. This role is crucial in ensuring that people, tools, and processes are in place to safely deliver production plans and achieve business objectives. It's a significant opportunity to take ownership of operational delivery, drive continuous improvement, and positively impact performance, safety, and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage an operational team to safely achieve production targets and business objectives.
  • Oversee workforce planning, performance management, employee welfare, capability development, and recruitment.
  • Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, quality, and company processes across all operations.
  • Monitor resources, tooling, equipment, and operational systems to maximise performance and minimise risk.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives and maintain accurate operational reporting and planning data.

What We're Looking For:

Essential experience includes supervising teams within a similar operational, production, or maintenance setting, with a proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop individuals. Candidates should have experience in managing operational performance and resource planning, alongside a solid understanding of health, safety, and quality compliance requirements, and strong organisational and communication skills.

Educational requirements include being educated to Level 2 in the National Qualification Framework (or equivalent workplace experience), complemented by a relevant technical or vocational qualification equivalent to NQF Level 3 (e.g., Advanced Apprenticeship or Level 3 NVQ).

Security Clearance:

The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance. Please note that many roles within Babcock are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions, which may be influenced by factors such as place of birth, nationality, and residency.
