About the Role
Join BAE Systems and become a key player in shaping a safer future. As a Supply Chain Manager (Projects) based at Portsmouth Naval Base, you will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless availability of materials and services to support critical Programme requirements. This is a strategically important and highly complex role demanding expertise in developing and managing the Materials Supply Plan and associated strategies.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead all supply chain activities within the T45 Programme, providing bid support, operational performance management, and tactical issue resolution to achieve project revenue, budget performance, and customer satisfaction targets.
- Manage the entire project life-cycle of supply chain outputs, including bid deliverables, Supply Chain Management Plans, RBA inputs, Phase Reviews, and Design/Technical reviews as required by the T45 Project.
- Act as the prime point of contact for all project-related procurement issues, liaising with the Procurement Manager for material and sub-contracted services to address reported issues.
- Identify, understand, and mitigate known Supply Chain risks within the project, protecting the commercial interests of the company and documenting them in the Project or Supply Chain Risk Registers.
- Function as a change agent for Supply Chain within the project environment, assisting in the education and communication of developed strategies.
- Manage Supply Chain project performance, budget, and risk, reporting into the project contract review pack.
- Establish and maintain proven relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and functional peers, managing expectations through regular communication.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Experience working within a Procurement or Supply Chain function.
- Proven commercial and contractual acumen, demonstrated through managing internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to lead projects across multiple disciplines.
- Experience as a supply chain lead within major complex programmes.
